Hudhaifa ibn Al-Yaman reported: The people used to ask the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about good, but I would ask about evil for fear it would overtake me. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, we were in ignorance and evil and Allah sent us this good. Will there be evil after this good?” The Prophet said, “Yes.” I said, “Will there be good after that evil?” The Prophet said, “Yes, but within it is smoke.” I said, “What is its smoke?” The Prophet said, “A people who are not guided by my guidance. You will recognize them and reject them.” I said, “Will there be evil after that good?” The Prophet said, “Yes, callers to the gates of Hellfire. Whoever answers them will taste it from within.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us.” The Prophet said, “They are from our progeny and speak our language.” I said, “What do you command me should that overtake me?” The Prophet said, “Hold fast to the community of Muslims and their leader.” I said, “What if there is no community and no leader?” The Prophet said, “Then withdraw from all of the sects, even if you must bite at the root of trees until death overtakes you in that state.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3411, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1847; Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Emigration is of two kinds: the emigration of the resident and the bedouin. As for the emigration of the bedouin, he responds when he is called and he obeys when he is commanded. As for the emigration of the resident, its trial is more severe and its reward is greater.” [Source: Musnad Ahmad 6774; Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ahmad Shakir]

Indeed, those who have believed and emigrated and fought with their wealth and lives in the cause of Allah and those who gave shelter and aided - they are allies of one another. But those who believed and did not emigrate - for you there is no guardianship of them until they emigrate. And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help, except against a people between yourselves and whom is a treaty. And Allah is Seeing of what you do. [al-Anfal, 8:72].

ISDEV big family are enjoying the Hari Raya delicacies
The harmony in ISDEV is possible through the strength of ukhuwwah amongst the ISDEV fraternity. Everyone took the opportunity to catch up with one another while indulging in various traditional delicacies. Lemang, nasi impit, kuah kacang, serunding and Hari Raya cookies and cakes were offered that day for lunch. More than 50 ISDEV members made up of ISDEV lecturers, staff, students as well as colleagues and staff from School of Social Sciences and Graduate School of Business attended the simple Eidul-Fitri gathering this year.
