On 18 February, 2014 the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV) played host to the staff and students of Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM). The KUIM entourage consists of 6 lecturers and 43 undergraduate students who are majoring in Islamic Development Management.

This visit signifies the close rapport that ISDEV has with KUIM. ISDEV had actively participated in developing the Islamic Development Management undergraduate program at KUIM. ISDEV Director, Prof. Muhammad Syukri Salleh, was appointed by KUIM as an Advisory Panel to develop the program sometime in 2010. According to Dr. Mohamad Nazli, the program is well-received and students of the program now have increased to more than 160 students.

The visit was divided into the morning session and the afternoon session. In the morning ISDEV lecturers and ASTS held a briefing on ISDEV. A formal discussion as well as a detailed explanation on ISDEV and the various Islamic Development Management postgraduate program were given.

The afternoon saw two concurrent sessions taking place. One of the sessions was a closed meeting round table discussion between the lecturers from both ISDEV and KUIM. The other session saw an open dialogue taking place among students of ISDEV and KUIM. This session was chaired by Ustaz Syakir Mohd Rosdi with the help of Wan Norhaniza Wan Hasan as well as Ustaz Taha.

Prof. Muhammad Syukri Salleh also received a letter of appointment as a Visiting Lecturer of KUIM for the program. The appointment letter was officially delivered personally to him. It is hoped that the various input, myriad of experience and guidance as well as a deeper understanding of the postgraduate programmes shared with the undergraduate students of KUIM has helped to further promote ISDEV postgraduate programme to KUIM students. These would-be graduate students of KUIM would one day, in the very near future, be ISDEV potential postgraduate students, insya Allah!
