Narrated Hafsah, Ummul Mu'minin: The apostle of Allah (salallahu 'alaihi wassalam) used to fast three days every month: Monday, Thursday and Monday in the next week [Hadith from Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 13: Kitab al-Siyam (Fasting), Hadith No. 2445].
