Alhamdulillah, on 2 March, 2017, Lenny a/p Luat one of RISDEV students (ISDEV Postgraduate by Research Mode) sat for her mock viva at ISDEV open library for her Ph.D thesis entitled "Strategi Pengurusan Insan Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM): Kajian dari Perspektif Islam" (Human Management Strategy of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM): Study from the Islamic Perspective). Questions and comments from all lecturers and postgraduate students that ensued immediately after her presentation had helped her to improve in the defence of her thesis. It had definitely given her the confidence to face her viva-voce scheduled for the next day in the morning of 3 March, 2017.

A tradition in ISDEV, a solat hajat performed congregationally prior to a student's viva was held at Masjid al Malik Khalid, USM. The routine of performing the solat hajat congregationally amongst ISDEV members is done together with a focused intention to seek Allah SWT help in order to guide the candidate for her viva voce later.
