A NAṢ A WEEK - 7 DZULQAIDAH 1441H

Abu Umamah reported: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “If a man battles for the sake of reward and fame, what do you think he has?” The Prophet said, “He has nothing.” The man repeated his question three times and the Prophet said, “He has nothing.” Then the Prophet said, “Verily, Allah does not accept any good deeds unless they are done sincerely and in pursuit of his countenance.” [Source: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 3140. Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani]

عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا غَزَا يَلْتَمِسُ الْأَجْرَ وَالذِّكْرَ مَالَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا شَيْءَ لَهُ فَأَعَادَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ يَقُولُ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا شَيْءَ لَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَقْبَلُ مِنْ الْعَمَلِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ لَهُ خَالِصًا وَابْتُغِيَ بِهِ وَجْهُهُ

A NAṢ A WEEK - 30 SYAWAL 1441H

Fight them until there is no more persecution (fitnah) , and worship is devoted to God. If they cease hostilities, there can be no (further) hostility, except towards aggressors. [The English translation of Surah al-Baqarah (2), ayah 193 by Professor Muhammad Abdel Haleem]

A NAṢ A WEEK - 23 SYAWAL 1441H

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever begs people for wealth in order to accumulate more riches, he is only asking for a hot coal from Hellfire. Let him ask for a little or a lot.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1041. Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim]

A NAṢ A WEEK - 9 SYAWAL 1441H

Abu Huraira reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “Who is most deserving of my good company?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked, “Then who?” The Prophet said “Your mother.” The man asked again, “Then who?” The Prophet said, “Your mother.” The man asked again, “Then who?” The Prophet said, “Your father.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5626, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2548.
