Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . Recap 2019: ISDEV Public Lectures

The year 2020 is seeing numerous changes in our daily lives. However, the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is determined to ensure that its pursuit of academic, research and service excellence related to Islam and the affairs of the Muslims remains a top priority.

In these uncertain days brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic forcing all to embrace the new normal, ISDEV is able to withstand these trying times by adopting, adapting and assimilating these changes - digital and online platforms - opening new horizons for ISDEV outreach.

Although the tumultuous year of 2020 is nearing its end, ISDEV takes this opportunity to take a journey down on memory lane at the ISDEV Public Lectures held for 2019. The ISDEV Public Lecture is a series of face-to-face public lectures which is open to the general public to participate in a scholarly platform.

ISDEV intends to continue providing such scholarly pursuit through ISDEV Public Lecture, now on online platform soon, with scholars and experts from within and outside the country.

In shaa Allah.

ISDEV Research Discourse Series delivered by Tuan Guru Bajang Dr Muhammad Zainul Majdi with tittle "Between the ecology and the economics: Where do politics stand?" at the Cahaya Complex of USM

The one day intensive ISDEV-IIIT Texbooks Writing Workshop incorporating a session with Professor Dr. Roosfa Hashim on the Method & Techniques of Developing Text Book and Teaching Materials followed by a session with Professor Dr. Aslam Haneef on Integration of Knowledge: Islamization, Relevantization and the Need for Teaching Materials. The Workshop's closing remarks was delivered by Professor Dr. Fauzan Noordin, Director IIIT, East and Southeast Asia (ESEA).

May we be given Allah SWT leave to meet face-to-face again.

A NAṢ A WEEK - 16 RABI'UL AWWAL 1442H

It has been narrated on the authority of Thauban that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

A group of people from my Umma will always remain triumphant on the right path and continue to be triumphant (against their opponents). He who deserts them shall not be able to do them any harm. They will remain in this position until Allah's Command is executed (i.e. Qiyamah is established). In Qutaiba's version of the tradition, we do not have the words:" They will remain in this position."
