A NAṢ A WEEK - 12 MUHARRAM 1442H

God will be well pleased with the first emigrants (Muhajireen) and helpersand (Ansar) those who followed them in good deeds, and they will be well pleased with Him: He has prepared Gardens graced with flowing streams for them, there to remain for ever. That is the supreme triumph [The English translation of Surah al-Tawbah (9), ayah 100 by Professor Muhammad Abdul Haleem].

A NAṢ A WEEK - 5 MUHARRAM 1442H

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: A man asked, “O Messenger of Allah, which emigration is best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “To emigrate away from that which Allah disapproves. Emigration is of two kinds: the emigration of the resident and the bedouin. As for the emigration of the bedouin, he responds when he is called and he obeys when he is commanded. As for the emigration of the resident, its trial is more severe and its reward is greater.” [Source: Musnad Aḥmad 6774. Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ahmad Shakir]

A NAṢ A WEEK - 20 DZULHIJJAH 1441H

Abu Sa’id reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are four kinds of hearts: a polished heart as shiny as a radiant lamp, a sealed heart with a knot tied around it, a heart that is turned upside down, and a heart that is wrapped. As for the polished heart, it is the heart of the believer and its lamp is the light of faith. The sealed heart is the heart of the unbeliever. The heart that is turned upside down is the heart of a pure hypocrite, for he had knowledge but he denied it. As for the heart that is wrapped, it is the heart that contains both faith and hypocrisy. The parable of faith in this heart is the parable of the herb that is sustained by pure water, and the parable of the hypocrisy in it is the parable of an ulcer that thrives upon puss and blood; whichever of the two is greater will dominate.” [Source: Musnad Aḥmad 10745. Grade: Jayyid (very good) according to Al-Suyuti]

A NAṢ A WEEK - 13 DZULHIJJAH 1441H

It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches God but your piety. He has subjected them to you in this way so that you may glorify God for having guided you. Give good news to those who do good: [The English translation of Surah al-Hajj (22), ayah 37 by Professor Muhammad Abdel Haleem].
