ISDEV lecturers and ISDEV fellows with two DBP editors. |
7 March, 2019 the ISDEV Resource Room was abuzz with activities. Two editors from Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka (DBP) was there as early as 9:30am for the Bengkel Pemurnian Manuskrip DBP. The one whole day manuscript refinement workshop gave the opportunity to ISDEV lecturers, students as well as ISDEV Fellows to produce quality manuscripts to be published by the prestigious publication house in Malaysia, the DBP.

The head delegation from DBP was Encik Mohd Riduwan bin Abdul Wahab, Perancang Bahasa (Language Planner) from the Bahagian Buku Umum (General Books Section). A total of 26 manuscripts were examined that day. The authors were assigned to their specific editors where a one-to-one session took place for an efficient editing of the manuscripts to take place. The author's writing and language styles as well as the Malay grammar (tatabahasa) were checked to ensure integration and in harmony with the DBP style.

A follow-up to this workshop is scheduled to take place sometime after 'Eid. In the meantime, ISDEV has identified 6 May, 2019 as an in-house workshop session for the authors to polish up their manuscripts as required by DBP. Hopefully in the next follow up session with DBP all 26 manuscripts are ready to go for publication by DBP.
