ISDEV welcoming it’s twelfth batch of Masters in Social
Science (Islamic Development Management) students on 8th September 2017 at Dewan
Kuliah A, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). 12 new students have been registered
to pursue their Masters (Mixed-Mode) for the academic year 2017/2018. In
continuation of ISDEV tradition, this new batch of students is collectively
known as MISDEV 17.1.

The Ta'aruf Session (or Orientation Programme) for MISDEV 17.1 started as early as 9:00am with two sessions. The first session started with a welcoming speech and briefing by ISDEV Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zakaria Bahari. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zakaria started by introducing to the students on what ISDEV is all about. Then he gave a brief general overview of the structure of ISDEV, the courses to be attended by the students, introduced ISDEV lecturers and administrative staffs as well as the manners and conduct that should be adhered to whilst studying at ISDEV.

The second session continued with multimedia presentation
prepared by ISDEV Associate Members (ABI) focusing on ISDEV activities that are
to be participated by the MISDEV 17.1 students throughout their studies at
ISDEV. In this session, Muhammad Syukri Jalil as ABI
representative played his role to explain further about ISDEV activities to
share with them the thrill and excitement felt by being actively involved in
the activities undertaken. On the second session, current RISDEV (ISDEV
Postgraduate student by Research) and MISDEV (ISDEV Mixed-Mode) students who
are supervised by ISDEV lecturers were called to briefly introduce their
respective lecturers from their point of view in terms of each of the
lecturers’ individual personality and their experiences as to how they are
supervised. This is the time that everyone had a chance to know each ISDEV
lecturers inside out. The entire session was also presented via an attractive
multimedia presentation prepared by ABI members. A question and answer session
come afterwards allowing MISDEV 17.1 to seek for clearer information.
