The close knit collaboration between the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) turns out to be a fruitful effort once again with the launch of 15 books written by ISDEV members inclusive of the two books written by USM academics.

The books were officially launched by Professor Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman, USM Vice Chancellor during the closing remarks of The 9th ISDEV International Islamic Development Management Conference (IDMAC 2015). The launching ceremony was held on the second day of IDMAC 2015 on 9 December 2015 at University Conference Hall, USM. All the 15 books launched are primarily on Islamic-based development which analysed issues ranging from economics, social, political economy, asset management and hospitality.

Meanwhile, ISDEV Director, Professor Dr. Muhammad Syukri Salleh added that the initial process in producing these books started as early as January 2012. In 2014, 12 books by ISDEV members were officially launched. Alhamdulillah, this year, with the close rapport forged between ISDEV members and DBP editors, ISDEV successfully launched the second batch of 15 books within the prescribed time period. With this display of ability, working hard within the time frame set, ISDEV is confident in producing more scholarly books for the market in the near future and endeavours to commit to produce scholarly works at least once a year.
