A NAS A WEEK - 3 JAMADIL AWWAL 1441H

Al-Mughira ibn Shu’ba reported: On the day the Prophet’s son Abraham died, the sun eclipsed and the people said the eclipse was because of the death of Abraham. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah and they do not eclipse because of the death or birth of any person. When you see them, call upon Allah and pray until the eclipse is clear.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1012, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 915. Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to al-Bukhari and Muslim]

A NAS A WEEK - 26 RABI'UL AKHIR 1441

Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day there are indeed Signs for men of understanding497 [The English Translation of Aali 'Imraan, 3:190 by Abdullah Yusuf Ali].

Note:
497 - The two items mentioned here are just brief symbols recalling the six or seven mentioned in the other passage. And those too are but brief symbols and reminders of the glorious majesty of Allah and His goodness to man.

A NAS A WEEK - 19 RABI'UL AKHIR 1441H

Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Know that there is much good in being patient with what you detest, victory will come with patience, affliction will come with relief, and ‘with hardship will come with ease.’” (94:4-5) [Source: Musnad Aḥmad 2800. Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ahmad Shakir]

A NAS A WEEK - 12 RABI'UL AKHIR 1441

O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice as witnesses to Allah even as against yourselves or your parents or your kin and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts) lest ye swerve and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.  544   645 [The English translation of an-Nisaa', 4:135, by Abdullah Yusuf Ali]

Notes:
544 - When the emigration took place from Makkah to Madinah, bonds and links of brotherhood were established between the Emigrants and the Helpers, and they shared in each other's inheritance. Later, when the Community was solidly established, and relations with those left behind in Makkah were resumed, the rights of blood-relations in Makkah, and the Helper-brethren in Madinah were both safeguarded. This is the particular meaning. The more general meaning is similar; respect your ties of blood, of neighbourhood, and of friendly compacts and understandings. Be just to all.
645 - Some people may be inclined to favour the rich, because they expect something from them. Some people may be inclined to favour the poor because they are generally helpless. Partiality in either case is wrong. Be just, without fear of favour. Both the rich and the poor are under Allah's protection as far as their legitimate interests are concerned, but they cannot expect to be favoured at the expense of others. And He can protect their interests far better than any man.

A NAS A WEEK - 5 RABI'UL AKHIR 1441

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. People do not gather in the houses of Allah, reciting the book of Allah and studying it together, but that tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those near him. Whoever is slow to good deeds will not be hastened by his lineage.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2699. Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim]
