A NAS A WEEK - 5 RABI'UL AKHIR 1439H

The blame is only against those who oppress men with wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land defying right and justice: for such there will be a Penalty grievous(1) [Translation of al-Shuraa, 42:42 by Abdullah Yusuf Ali].

Note (1)
The fact that men seek the lower rather than the higher Law is itself a result of arrogant wrong-doing of which the type was the Pharaoh who claimed to be "your Lord Most High" and oppressed the Israelites, and kept his own people under slavery and subjection, and the false glamour of magic and deception.

A NAS A WEEK - 29 RABI'UL AWWAL 1439

Aisha reported: A man sought permission to enter the home of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Prophet said, “Admit him, for wretched is the son of a hostile clan and wretched is the man of a hostile clan.” When the man entered, the Prophet spoke to him gently. Aisha said, “O Messenger of Allah, you said what you said about him and then you spoke to him gently.” The Prophet said, “O Aisha, the worst of people in position to Allah on the Day of Resurrection are those whom people abandon or leave alone for fear of their vulgarity.”

A NAS A WEEK - 21 RABI'UL AWWAL 1439H

Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah. if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah [Translation of al-An'am, 6:70 by Abdullah Yusuf Ali].

A NAS A WEEK - 14 RABI'UL AWWAL 1439H

Al-Mughira ibn Shu’ba reported: On the day the Prophet’s son Abraham died, the sun eclipsed and the people said the eclipse was because of the death of Abraham. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah and they do not eclipse because of the death or birth of any person. When you see them, call upon Allah and pray until the eclipse is clear.” [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1012, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 915; Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
